Call for Submissions

The 4th International Conference of the International Association for Music and Medicine will be hosted by the Chinese Society of Music Therapy, co-hosts by the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, the Chinese Arts and Medicine Association, and Central Conservatory of Music at the China Hall of Science and Technology in Beijing, China in 2016. Gao’s Music Therapy Center is the entrusted organizer. The themes for this conference are Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Psychiatrics, Oncology and Palliative Care, Neurological rehabilitation, Trauma, the use of Media and Technology, Music Medicine and Music Therapy. Submissions are now being accepted for unpublished papers, posters and workshops on research in the field of music medicine. Other disciplines related to the conference theme are welcome to participate.

 

Submission Instructions

Instructions for submissions are provided below for various formats. Submissions should be sent to iammchina@iammchina.org before February 28, 2016. Please indicate “IAMM 2016” in the subject line of the email. The official languages of the conference is English and Mandarin. However, all proposals must be submitted in English for reviewing purpose. Oral presentation and workshop can be conducted in either English or Mandarin. Professional simultaneous interpretation will be available. All poster presentations and abstracts in conference booklet will be printed in both English and Chinese.

 

Review Process

All submission, with the exception of workshops, will be reviewed anonymously by the Scientific Committee according to originality, importance, clarity, and scientific merit. The primary corresponding author will be notified by email of the Committee’s decision by March, 10, 2016 and is responsible to notify the other authors. Once a proposal is accepted, no changes of author(s) is allowed. Papers, posters and workshops must be delivered at the conference as planned. All presenters are required to register for the conference by May, 10, 2016

 

Oral Presentation

The time allocated for oral presentation will be 30 MINUTES, including 5 minutes for questions and answers. Proposal for submission should be a 300-500-word paper description, including references; 50 word abstract and 50-word biography of each presenter. In addition, 5 keywords and address for correspondence consisting of (1) corresponding author; (2) Department; (3) Organization; (4) Email address.

 

Poster Presentation

The posters will be displayed during all conference breaks to allow authors to discuss their posters with conference delegates. Proposal for posters should include: 300-500-word poster description, including references; 50-word abstract; 50-word biography of each presenter; 5 keywords and address for correspondence consisting of (1) corresponding author; (2) Department; (3) Organization; (4) Email address.

 

Workshops

Workshops that offer significant and original contributions to the conference are welcomed. These include (1) intensive instruction on specific approach related to music medicine or music therapy, (2) a set of integrated oral presentation on a specific topic related to music medicine, or (3) a major presentation with invited discussants. Submission for workshop should include a 300-500-word poster description, including references; 50-word abstract; 50-word biography of each presenter; 5 key words and address for correspondence consisting of (1) corresponding author; (2) Department; (3) Organization; (4) Email address.

Each workshop will be allocated half-day or one-day in the conference schedule. All workshop presenters must agree to register for the conference in full.
